Adaptable Recruitment are working with a Liverpool based organisation who are looking to recruit an high calibre Financial Planning Assistant to join their vibrant team on a permanent basis .

Purpose of the role
To support the Financial Planning & Reporting Accountant with general processing and financial controls. To assist with general accountancy processing, including contracts database maintenance, sales allocations and credit control.
Contracts Maintenance
- Preparation of annual organisational database for monitoring contractual income.
- Maintenance of database in line with updates/changes to rates and terms.
- Mapping the invoicing process for each of the organisation's key funders, including where funders operate online portals for billing.
- Using contracts data to support the Financial Planning & Reporting Accountant with annual budget setting process.
Income Reconciliation & Allocation
- Ensure sales invoicing in the finance system matches billing information on funder portals and investigate differences.
- Allocate receipts from key funders in line with billing information
- Maintain a log of unallocated differences and follow up with relevant funders/stakeholders.
Credit Control
- Supporting the Financial Planning & Reporting Accountant with the preparation of regular aged debtors reports for the organisation, including assessment of key issues.
- Investigating causes for non-payment of debts and chasing up with relevant commissioning bodies and customers.
- Liaising with service managers, heads of service and other stakeholders to escalate credit control in line with organisational policy.
Various Finance Duties
- Support the wider team to continually improve processes by looking for potential efficiencies and automation in own role.
- Provide financial information to other members of the finance team and the wider organisation, when required.
- To occasionally provide cover for other members of the team, during periods of annual leave or absence.
Skills and experience desired
This role would suit either a Finance graduate looking for their first role within Finance or an experienced Accounts Assistant who is looking for a new challenge. The successful candidate must be IT literate, have excellent communication skills and be able to prioritise and work to strict deadlines .
